Graduate Research Assistant, Morehouse School of Medicine Center for Maternal Health Equity

Our Center is looking for 1-2 current MPH/MSPH or PHD students to assist in data analysis and reporting for our Fertility Equity Study exploring Black women’s physiological and psychosocial experiences with infertility. The mixed methods study involves quantitative analysis of survey data as well as qualitative analysis of transcribed interviews. This part-time (6-10 hours weekly) position offers valuable hands-on experience in reproductive health disparities research within a dedicated and collaborative team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with quantitative data analysis using statistical software (familiarity with SAS or R preferred) to analyze survey data and perform descriptive and inferential analyses

  • Coding and thematic analysis of interview data using Dedoose software (experience with Dedoose is a plus, but not at all necessary. It’s quite user friendly.)

  • Assisting with literature reviews, and with drafting and editing manuscripts and presentations for submission to scientific journals and conferences (with substantial opportunities for co- authorship and/or developing independent research questions for your own theses, dissertations, etc.)

  • Collaborating with the research team in planning, organizing, and executing research activities, such as follow-up interviews and listening sessions

    Qualifications & experience:

  • Strong interest in social and structural determinants of health, reproductive justice, and health disparities

  • Training in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and relevant software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, R, Dedoose, NVivo, etc.)
