Public Health + Community Networks, 12/8

Category : News/Events

Description

Addressing social determinants of health through community strengthening efforts is gaining traction as we embrace a more holistic view of health. With this shift comes the challenge of community coordination. The team at the Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR) at the University of Kansas has been able to strengthen community networks and ultimately improve health outcomes by crafting a community care referral system. Their tool, IRIS, equally weighs people, technology, and research, differentiating it as a sustainable offering to facilitate these cross-sector referrals. Are human-centric solutions like these the future of public health?

Join us in learning from Dr. Teri Garstka, Associate Director of the Center for Public Partnerships & Research (CPPR) at the University of Kansas. This conversation will be facilitated by Isabelle Swiderski, MA, MBA of Seven25.

About the PH+ Series:

Public health touches nearly every aspect of our world, as is becoming clearer every day. This series of conversations was conceived to examine the space where public health intersects with other disciplines. Our goal is to highlight those at this intersection, discuss their work and broaden our thinking. This series is led by the Career Development Committee of the Rollins School of Public Health Alumni Association Board.

Meeting Information

  • Tuesday, December 8th, 12:00 – 1:30PM (EST)
