Description 

This position will be Part-Time and the student will telework 100% of the time as CDC currently remains in full-time telework status. The CDC Office of Science (OS), Office of Scientific Integrity (OSI) safeguards the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) science and research activities by protecting the rights and welfare of people who participate in CDC-sponsored research; providing guidance and consultation to safeguard individual privacy and confidentiality; facilitating clearance of CDC-sponsored data collections; and providing leadership, tools, technical assistance, and training related to the various ethical and regulatory obligations that govern CDC scientists’ work. The student will have the opportunity to learn about how CDC promotes quality, integrity, and innovation in science to improve the public’s health.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The student will participate in various activities conducted by OS/OSI, including assisting with activities that ensure CDC research and data collections are conducted in ways that are consistent with regulatory obligations and ethical principles, assisting with efforts to evaluate and enhance OS/OSI training activities, and assisting with efforts to build upon and measure progress towards OSI, Office of Science, and CDC strategic priorities. In addition, there will be opportunities for the student to contribute towards developing and improving OS/OSI information collection systems, including systems that track compliance with regulatory requirements and other OSI-related databases.
