Further Research

Further research into our topic area could expand upon the focus of the suburbs, and explore how the different forms of transportation have effected suburbs that lie without side of our focus and outside of the perimeter. It could be especially important to look at how the car and lack of transport can have an effect on the often overlooked suburban poverty that exists in Atlanta, as well as examining how the rapid growth of Atlanta, combined with the propensity for Millenials to move more into cities and leave behind suburbs, could have drastic effects on suburban and metro-Atlanta.

More research could also be done as the car continues to be the dominant mode of transportation, what effects will things like electric, hybrid or even self-driving cars have on Atlanta, and whether new Atlanta public transportation initiatives will ever truly leave a dent in the dominance of the car.
