Change to RAS Satisfaction Survey Process

RAS Central Operations launched faculty satisfaction surveys for pre and post award services provided by their home RAS unit in March of 2014. During the subsequent two years, surveys were distributed monthly and bi-annually for pre and post award activities, respectively.

Despite numerous adjustments to the process we continue to experience multiple challenges including: low response rates, anonymous responses (which prohibit follow-up and resolution), comments directed at other offices in the research administration supply chain, and survey fatigue. As a result, we have developed a new strategy for soliciting faculty feedback through surveys.

Effective immediately, RAS is discontinuing the current process of proactively sending satisfaction surveys to PIs. However, RAS will continue to enable PIs to complete and submit surveys on RAS pre- and post-award support through links on the RAS website ( and links in the email signatures of RAS employees. This new survey approach will go into effect on Monday, May 16th. As such, the RAS website and RAS employee email signatures will be updated to include links to the surveys effective on that date.
