Skit Project

You will write and perform a skit based on民工汇款是个大问题.

This will be done in three groups (2, 2, 3 people). Each person must have at least 10 conversational turns, excluding simple greetings, exclamations, and one-word answers.

Tips for writing and performing your skit:

1. Start with some background information about Wang Dagou, so that the audience understands who he is and how important the trip to the bank is for him.

2. Use the vocabulary you have already learned from the story when you write your skit.

3. Keep the plot simple, but feel free to alter the storyline to make it your own.

4. What happens after Wang Dagou leaves the bank to get his ID? Please give the story a different, but logical ending.

5. You need to speak LOUD, face the audience, and EXAGGERATE all actions and emotions. Facial expression, tone of voice, gestures and movement are the keys to a good performance.

Grading:

1. Scripts 50%, breaking down into content, ending, language and creativity.

2. Performance 50%, breaking down into memorization, manner of speaking (loudness, clearness, pronunciation, and intonation), extra-linguistic factors (facial expressions, gestures, actions).
