“I like it. Lots of thinking going on here!” – Susan Detrie

Susan Detrie joins Emory as an Educational Analyst II after spending time as an instructional technologist at the University of Colorado-Denver. She worked with education faculty at the University of Colorado-Denver, the University of Colorado-Boulder, the University of Denver and the University of Wyoming to build online courses for K-12 teachers of bilingual students.

In addition to having experience with Canvas and technology project management, Susan originally came from a media/film/television background where she designed graphics for videos, animation, print materials and websites for over 20 years.

A native of Wisconsin, Susan has lived all over the country, from Los Angeles to Chicago to Austin. She holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s degree in instructional technology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an education specialist degree in education technology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Susan loves art classes, cooking and museums.  She also likes volunteering for children’s causes. When asked what she thinks of her Emory experience thus far, Susan said, “I like it. Lots of thinking going on here!”
