Tom Cervenka…animal lover, musician, software expert.

Tom Cervenka recently joined Steve Wheat’s IT Architecture team as software engineer IV. Before being hired by Emory, Tom spent 30 years as a senior software engineer at University of Illinois.

Tom was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where he currently resides. He will work remotely for Emory. Tom holds bachelor’s degrees in math and computer science from Elmhurst College, in Elmhurst, IL.

When he’s not working or taking care of his family (“I have my wife, Linda, daughter, Caitlin son, Tommy, dog, Honey, and cats, Ellie and Tito.”), Tom enjoys music and golf. His guilty pleasure is that he likes watching “Gilmore Girls” with his wife and daughter.

“My new job is very interesting and challenging,” said Tom. “My teammates are highly intelligent and hard-working.”
