“The first thing that stood out about Emory was the closeness of the community. It’s like being part of a Fortune 500 company but on the academic side.” Lyndon Batiste

Lyndon Batiste is the new Library Service Desk Coordinator. He spent the last seven years as an assistant branch manager in  the Clayton County Public Library System.

A native of Milwaukee, WI, Lyndon came to Atlanta 28 years ago when his father’s job brought the family here. He has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in religious studies from Morehouse College and Beulah Heights University. His dream is to someday enroll in the Candler School of Theology, win a Grammy Award, and a Nobel Peace Prize.

Lyndon is into music, and enjoys singing, playing piano and producing music in the studio. His favorite genre is somewhere between rhythm and blues and jazz. His dad was a jazz keyboardist.

“The first thing that stood out about Emory was the closeness of the community. It’s like being part of a Fortune 500 company but on the academic side,” said Lyndon. “Everything is well-organized in terms of the systems. You come in and fit into your spot perfectly. It is a well-oiled machine.”
